Lavender lovers on Mayne Island believe that a plant as glorious and useful as Lavender must have a patron. Perhaps it is St. Lavender. Perhaps St. Lavender Day is August 14.

St. Lavender Day is celebrated with a festival on Mayne Island on the Sunday nearest to St. Lavender Day. The festival is a celebration of Lavender and all its uses:
